Reverse engineering is the fastest and most economical method for obtaining a 3D model without existing geometry.  Starting with an existing part or model, point cloud processing software converts the digitized data into a surface model for use in CAD systems.  This model can then be used to manufacture or alter to your new requirements. 

When do I need reverse engineering:

• If you have a model with a difficult shape to draw into CAD.
• If you have a part that needs to be manufactured and you don’t have any tooling or CAD files.
• If you have a need to create a drawing of an existing part.
• A change in a physical part or tool must be captured in CAD.
